We’re Angélica Troya and Samuel Bourille, a French-Colombian couple, photographers, writers, travel guidebook authors, bloggers, and Colombia travel specialists.
Based in Colombia since 2023, we’ve been traveling the country since 2013 and have published more than 400 articles on our blog since 2018. We created this blog to get you excited about discovering Colombia and to help you plan your trip!
We’re the authors of the Guide Évasion Colombie (Hachette, published in 2024) and the Guide Simplissime Colombie (Hachette, coming in 2026).
Our blog is recommended by the Michelin Green Guide, Le Petit Futé, and the Guide Tao, and our work has been featured by France Info, Le Petit Journal, Liligo, and Voyageons Autrement. We partner with more than 40 local agencies across the country.
Why did you start this blog?
The story behind the My Trip to Colombia blog
After another trip to Colombia in 2017, we came home with the idea of creating this travel blog dedicated to Colombia. We were just past the peace accords, Colombia was opening up to the world, and tourism was starting to grow at a huge pace. At that point we wanted to contribute to that growth, but not just any old way. So we got to work on creating the My Trip to Colombia blog, which launched in February 2018.
So beyond telling you about Colombia’s beautiful destinations and all the riches this country has, we’d also seek out local initiatives for you, projects that let communities benefit fairly from foreign tourism, agencies that work with respect for local people and the environment.
We want to encourage responsible tourism, because these are values that matter to us and because we think it’s a must for Colombia if the country doesn’t want to destroy its incredible assets.

Colombian by birth, I grew up between Colombia and France before settling in Colombia for good. Co-author of the Guide Évasion Colombie and the Guide Simplissime Colombie (Hachette), I draw on my local eye and my dual culture to track down the country’s best experiences. Passionate about travel and photography, every trip is a chance for me to rediscover the riches of my country and share them with you.

A French guy who’s been based in Colombia for several years now, I’ve been traveling the country since 2013 — from the Andean páramos to the rivers of the Amazon. Co-author of the Guide Évasion Colombie and the Guide Simplissime Colombie (Hachette), photographer, and web writer, I’ve made Colombia my specialty. Before this blog, I founded Les vents nous portent, a general travel blog. Meeting Angélica turned this passion into a life project: showing the joyful, authentic side of Colombia.
