To organize a trip to the Pacific coast, whether to Bahia Solano and El Valle or Nuqui and Arusi, the easiest thing to do is to book accommodation you like, which you can then use to organize activities on site.
We visited both regions, and had a slight preference for our experience on the Arusi side.
In this post we recommend the best contacts for accommodation in Arusi and hope, like us, to have one of the best experiences of your life.

Organize a stay in the Nuqui region
Staying on the Pacific coast of CHoco

The Pacific coast of Choco is a place apart from the rest of the country, not to say the rest of the world. It was our favorite part of our 2018 trip, where we were lucky enough to discover theEl Valle area, Utria Natural Park andwatch the humpback whales dance! A unique moment that will stay with us forever!
We loved this region so much that in 2020 we decided to return to discover the Nuqui area and the southern Gulf of Tribuga around the village of Arusi, where two excellent hotels are based, and we particularly recommend them.
Staying on the Pacific coast of Choco
All the hotels in the region offer full-board accommodation, and are able to suggest the classic activities to be enjoyed in the area.
Ultimately, organizing a stay in the Nuqui region means booking accommodation that includes lodging and 3 meals a day. On site, you’ll be able to organize activities on a day-to-day basis.
On-site activities
- Scuba diving
- Whale watching
- Bioluminescent plankton observation
- Surfing lessons
- Jungle trekking
- Thermal baths
- Gastronomic experiences
- Etc.
How much does it cost?
Prices will vary according to the number of days you spend on site, the type of accommodation you choose and the number of activities you take part in.
Local experience
If you’re looking for an experience connected to the local population, then we recommend booking at Casa Cielito in Arusi.
Disconnected experience
If you want to disconnect completely and spend a few days isolated in a magical, super-comfortable place, then head for Punta Brava, 20 minutes south of Arusi.
Casa Cielito
Planning your stay on the Pacific coast

We had an exceptional stay at Casa Cielito, right on the beach in the village of Arusi.
They offer two styles of accommodation:
- Selva Cielito is the less expensive option, with shared rooms and a small independent kitchen for self-catering.
- Casa Cielito is the top-of-the-range offer, with comfortable en-suite private rooms, beautifully decorated!

Punta Brava
Organize a stay on the Pacific coast

We had a magical time at Punta Brava, this incredible hotel located 20 minutes from Arusi by lancha, and totally cut off from the world!
The hotel is located on a rocky outcrop only accessible by boat, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, with its back to a primary forest… It’s a truly unique place.
The hotel’s architecture is entirely turned towards nature, with everything open and giving a surprising impression of “natural luxury”.
Punta Brava is the ideal place for those seeking total disconnection. You can stay there, away from the world, for as long as it takes to clear your mind, take a walk in the forest, swim in the Pacific Ocean or enjoy the sunsets from the magnificent terrace.
The rooms are very comfortable and include all meals, with a special mention for the open-air showers overlooking the jungle, even if they are shared!
