During our 10-day stay in San Agustin, we stayed at the Finca El Cielo hotel, located just outside the village, close to the archeological sites of La Chaquira and El Purutal.

We tried out a great tree house and the large family room. Two super-pleasant Hotels, in a magnificent finca hotel, with a beautiful garden and very good restaurant service.

But perhaps what we’ll remember most is the welcome we received from the two hotel managers, Yeraldin and Alirio! Two young people with a passion for their land, with whom we had a wonderful time.

Hotel Finca El Cielo, where to stay in San Agustin

Hotel Finca El Cielo is located on the road leading to the Magdalena Estrecho, about 10 minutes by cab from the center of San Agustin. The owners wanted to create a bucolic atmosphere, and they’ve succeeded!

With its landscaped garden overlooking the mountains and its various accommodations ranging from single double rooms to detached houses and tree houses, there’s something for everyone.

White walls, wood, bamboo, old-fashioned roof tiles… the integration into the landscape and respect for traditional building techniques give this place a special, aesthetic, tranquil and peaceful character.

What are the rooms like at Hotel Finca El Cielo?

    Hotel in San Agustin

This is one of Hotel Finca El Cielo’s greatest assets: the variety of accommodation available for booking, with something to suit every taste and budget.

On the first floor of the main house, the hotel offers the most classic rooms: double or triple rooms with en-suite bathrooms opening onto a large shared balcony.

Behind, a completely independent house is available for booking for groups or families. Two sleeping areas, a kitchen, a living room and a terrace – everything you need to make the most of your stay.

On the side, the family room perched high up is really spacious, so even if there’s more than one of you, there’s plenty of room for everyone. The glass windows all around give a really appreciable luminosity and the view from the large balcony is just perfect.

Finally, the icing on the cake, the hotel offers the possibility of reserving a treehouse, a small cocoon room a little out of the way, crossed by the tree’s barter, an enchanted interlude!

    What we didn’t like

    • The road, quite close to the tree house, spoils the peacefulness of the place at times.
