The Pacific coast of Choco is one of our favorite destinations in Colombia. We’ve already been there twice, and we’ll certainly be returning regularly! From our point of view, it’s a magical destination, where the ocean and wild jungle invite you to disconnect.

Colombia’s Pacific coast of choco Travel guide

The Pacific coast of Choco is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. In other words, it’s one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. Although the department’s capital is Quibdo, it is the Choco Coast that is the most popular tourist destination.

The Pacific coast of Choco is an isolated region, with no road connections and accessible only by plane from Medellin or by boat from Buenaventura.

The Pacific coast of Choco is divided into two main areas: Bahia Solano and Nuqui. While it is of course possible to connect the two areas, the distances involved in a lancha suggest that you prefer to stay in one or the other.

Mama Orbe Eco Farm

Posada

Mama Orbe Eco Farm

From simple cabins on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, a home with Mama Orbe’s family and a unique sea turtle protection project in El Valle, or how to combine business with pleasure. If Mama Orbe is a little far from the village, it’s a real opportunity to disconnect and share with the family, and do the activities with them. Highly recommended!
