Hotel Arcoiris where to stay in Villa de Leyva

When we were looking for a hotel to stay in Villa de Leyva, we came across the Arcoiris Suites Hotel, and immediately fell under its spell when we saw the photos of the rooms with their huge picture windows overlooking the mountains.

We wanted to indulge ourselves and take advantage of Boyaca’s tranquil atmosphere to relax and indulge ourselves in a nice hotel.

We were right where we wanted to be, and made the most of it!

The Arcoiris hotel suite is located just outside the village of Villa de Leyva, at the top of a road that leads to the village heights. The easiest way to get there is by cab (10 min.).

The hotel offers its own valet parking service to take you down to the village. The Arcoiris hotel is nestled in a vast, green, landscaped plot with splendid views.

Nestled on a mountainside, from the hotel you can see the peaks that lead directly to the Iguaque Natural Park and its famous Laguna. Short hikes from the hotel to Iguaque Park are also possible.

What are the rooms like at the Arcoiris hotel?

Where to stay in Villa de Leyva

The Arcoiris hotel offers a variety of rooms, each with its own identity, name, ambience and amenities. All are splendid, and are turned so as to have a view of the mountains.

We chose the room called “Lima Limon”, a huge room with a gigantic, unoverlooked bay window, a terrace and a shower room.

We loved the atmosphere, the light that bathed the room, the incredible view that we took full advantage of when we woke up, the terrace, everything..

The bed was comfortable, the TV flat screen, even if we didn’t use it. There was also a small fridge with drinks (for a fee) and a bottle of wine available (for a fee).

    What’s the value for money?

Hotel Arcoiris in Villa de Leyva

With a 40% promotion on Sunday to Friday nights in low season on all suites and a 25% promotion on Saturday nights on Master suites, it’s really possible to get a reasonable rate for such services.

With the promotion we were able to get away with $160,000, and the value for money is just unbeatable. From our point of view, it’s a great way to treat yourself without breaking the bank!

Positive vs. Negative about Arcoiris hotel

    Hotel in Villa de Leyva

    What we liked
    – The setting and sense of tranquility: being in the middle of the mountains
    – The comfort of the rooms
    – The service provided by the staff. As usual, Colombians are not only naturally kind, but also customer service-minded, and this hotel is no exception
    – The large bay window with the view from the room
    – Being able to have breakfast on our terrace facing the mountains

    What we didn’t like
    – Wifi really available at the hotel reception desk, but rather poor in the room
    – Having to pay for a cab (10,000 pesos) to get down to the village and back every day. (Of course, it’s possible to walk all the way)
