It was during our 2016 trip that we discovered the Punta Caribana hotel. We first met Eylin, the owners’ daughter, who made us fall under Necocli’ s spell.

Then it was her parents, Cruz and Wilberto, who took great care of us and made us feel right at home. We returned this summer and were delighted to confirm that this small, family-run hotel is one of the best options for a pleasant stay in Necocli.

Hospitality is undoubtedly the strong point of Hotel Punta Caribana, and we recommend it with our eyes closed.

The Travel insurance we recommend in Colombia

We live in Colombia, and we can confirm that private healthcare is very expensive here. Private clinics in Colombia generally only admit patients who have insurance.

The Punta Caribana Hotel is close to the beach, and just a few blocks from the village’s main square. The facade has recently been renovated. New rooms have been built with all modern comforts.

It’s a family home that’s been beautifully transformed into a hotel. The central patio is beautiful and the atmosphere is tranquil.

The hotel also has a small terrace in its entrance where you can sit and chat with the owners, or simply do as the locals do and sit outside in the shade watching life go by.

How are the rooms like?

Hotel Punta Caribana in Necocli

Hotel Punta Caribana offers rooms with a common, simple but pleasant decor theme. All are comfortable and well-bedded.

The rooms on the ground floor and close to the garden are lovely, quiet and bright. Each time we stayed, our room had a large double bed, a bench that could be converted into an extra bed, and a bathroom.

On our 1st stay, our room had a fan, and a door with a built-in mosquito net opened onto a nice little balcony overlooking the street. The heat at night was quite bearable and pleasant.

During our 2nd stay, we tried out the new rooms overlooking the garden, which are nicely sized and have air-conditioning.

  1. Hi! Thank you so much for your blog, it has been the most useful resource in my research to plan an upcoming trip to Colombia. We would like to book with Hotel Punta Caribana during our stay in Necocli in early April and want to use the form on your site to support all your work and help. In the “How to Book” box I see a link to booking.com, and then it says we can contact Cruz and Wilberto directly in the form below but I don’t see a form. Is there still a way to contact them directly by form? I’d prefer to do that through your site, rather than using the booking.com link.

Also, we are interested in seeing the sea turtle protection project as mentioned in your Necocli article – does this require an overnight stay in Lechugal?
